Another problem: When click Tab as usual to select the vertices, my entire model isn't highlighted, only the vertices of a single split group of the model are selected.
Thanks for the suggestion! Added to the user wish list :) Thanks for the kind words! :) Knald always uses a cage internally even if you dont load one, although there are a couple of different options you can set to control how the projection is handled (which require a rebake to take effect if selected post bake). Ray…
Hi, I just purchased Knald. I like it a lot, thank you. Does anybody know how I can set my settings so that it exports JPEG and that the images are flipped vertically? I'm using Knald 1.2.1.
Hi Treidge, Yes, that is correct. Using a proper cage mesh with Unadjusted distribution wouldn't hurt bake quality. I was only talking about the specific cage used in the tests above when I said the results wouldn't be awesome. :) For clarification: The Unadjusted setting for cages is just different way of controlling ray…
It looks like Knald welds vertices on your low poly together when it creates the cage. I tried contacting support about it but couldn't get any help there. I couldn't find anything about it when searching, so I just wanted to post it here in case somebody encounters similar issues and can't figure out what is going on.
Been away from Knald for a while. Last time I tried using it, I couldn't because it interferes with vertex data when you import your mesh, even going so far as to weld vertices. This makes it unusable for everything except the most basic character baking. Has this changed, or is this still the case? It really sucks because…
Hi @BlackFangTech Thanks for the post! Knald will always respect the vertex normals if they are present in the high and low poly files. It will, however, smooth the vertex normals if there is no vertex normal data present within the mesh file on import as generally this is preferable to most people than having a…
Edit 2: Er. Ah. Ray distribution. Unadjusted. It's not a checkbox but... problem solved! Ignore this post. So I have a cage I've generated using the projection modifier in 3ds Max. I have some pretty steep edges that I've chosen to break, so there is an open edge in the cage. Knald seems to ignore this mesh or weld the…
