Hi, I did read somewhere that there might be a folder restructuring for the (custom) shelf folder in the "documents" path for Painter 2? Can I keep my custom shelf folder(s) or will it lead to conflicts with Painter 2? Thx
You can kind of fake that if you throw the layer with the generated masks inside of a folder, and then add a mask to the folder that you can paint on. It's not ideal, but it might hold you until they support it natively.
It depends, for the moment any resource present in the shelf folder (in your user folder) can't be reload. Only the resource that you imported into a project (by drag'n'drop into the shelf window for example) can be reload, substances included.
Having a strange issue. When painting on anything in a folder it becomes really laggy and then suddenly plop it changes color of the entire substance painter window? *The topmost two folders work fine, past that lag and window color changes?
Hey malcolm, Did you import these textures through the UI or did you just copy them in the shelf folder in Windows? There is a specific folder for alphas when creating a custom shelf so anything in the textures folder should automatically be tagged as texture unless told otherwise duing import through the UI where you can…
Hey Jerc, I'm having a problem where I've created a custom shelf on my hard drive with some textures in it, some of the textures have been incorrectly identified by painter as alphas, but I would like them to show up in the texture filter. They are not placed in the alpha folder, and will not show up in searches unless I…
@Mant1k0re not yet, but i thought i saw it on the roadmap. for now people use a stencil or when you go slow with the brush it looks like painter is very forgiving. @NormalTri Put the effects layer in a folder and use your predefined mask on this folder. Have fun
