It depends of your shader, for the moment only the default PBR shader supports it. You also need an emissive channel (which can be added via the document settings by clicking on the little "+" button). From that, you just need to paint something inside the emissive channel. By default most of the brush/tool will not have…
EDIT: The solution was to enable: Help > Settings > Display only the selected material when painting =================== The entire object disappears while I'm painting on a mask. Why? http://oskarswierad.com/p/screeny/substance-disappearing.gif
Showerthought; it would be nice to have a setting for automatically enabling wireframe when in Mask view. Or even some alternate mask view mode that blends in a particular channel (default albedo) to make painting on a blank mask a bit easier, so you don't have to work with a pure silhouette. When the brush is tiny it can…
Hey guys, I tried to render ( tests ) with iray on 2 cards, one gtx 770 oc and one gtx 960, and when i uncheck the CPU in the settings the graphic card becomes greyd out, it means that is not supported? The CPU usage is 100 % no matter if i have it enabled or disabled in the painter settings. Thanks.
Yeup ! A lot of things in Painter for the moment assume a square ratio, like the 2D view. That's something we need to address of course. The solo channels will only display what you paint, so if you want to paint over your normal map loaded in the "additional map" slot you will have to add it in a fill layer at the bottom…
It's not possible to bake the shading result of the 2D view (the best you can do is a screenshot for now). We don't plan to add this kind of feature (as it's pretty "specific" and would demand a quite important development time). Even with 2GB of Vram, a Geforce GT 720 will not allow you to work comfortably in SP (unless…
I have what feels like a stupid obvious question, but nobody I've asked has been able to figure this out--I have a layer (actually a folder with a few things in it, including a smart material) that is creating a heightmap of bumps on my object, like so: I want to be able to add new stuff on top of it that overwrites that…
I haven't found anything to read online anywhere so far. So I will ask it here... When using "Projection" in Stencils. Why does Painter re-scale my image by squeezing the image horizontally? Part two question: Will Substance Painter support stencil functionality as Mudbox does for its painting? Example: - User can import…
