I got quite some feedback, so: L3XICON Thank You for the good words, man! And thank you for your improvement-suggestions and your tool-tipps! I'll give it a try when I next work on it. And for your work: I like the style you put up! your scene is damn fine and clean! No noise and nothing to kill it... Just great! Thats…
Guessmyname - the stony floor texture is looking very nice :) I would suggest tiling it a little more (maybe 25%) just to increase the texel density. you could also maybe do some very quick paint overs of the diffuse with a dirt / grime brush at very low opacity and with a few different colours (be subtle!) just to give…
The rule of thumb when following concepts is: "do it like the concept, but cooler". So if you think the pillars should be sharper and more defined to match the statue; or the statue should be rough and worn to match the pillars, go for it.
@Hartford - Looking really sweet! Good job. @Hannah - Cool style. Just watch out how you define how things collide. The way the arches hit the top of the pillars doesn't seem logical and and the base of the floor on the bottom looks like it's sticking out a bit from the stone path. @.Wiki - Like you're harder stones a lot…
@chaoswww yah I'm gonna refine it more I did that in about 15-20 min just before I had to leave for work so its definitely not done yet so I'll post another update when I think I'm done with it
@cmtanko - I think it's looking good so far, your stairs however are quite different to that shown in the concept art and could maybe be refined a little bit.
Yeah thanks for the critique :) I will put those stones into Zbrush again and refine them a bit more to make them a little bit harder in some areas. The problem is I cant make those scratches and dents too obvious because I will reuse these maps for the upper part of the set. @ Shuaws The skull reminds me of the punisher…
Really nice work, I like how your iteration process refine your scene more and more each time. Do you plan to render your scene in a complete game engine in the end to add more complicated post processing effects? If that's what you want to achieve, you should probably start to move your assets to these engine to watch if…
Hey everyone! thought I'd have a stab at this one, looks like fun :) great start by everyone and will be interesting to see how differently people break up work. Dawars - whats next... I would suggest starting to refine the shapes and forms of the major features (pillar, arch etc) looking for where you can re-use your work…
hey again folks! some great starts from everyone already :) xazas - welcome! and a very good start 'What do you think, is the scale right?' - yup I think your scale is just a there, I'd agree with PyrZern and say that your pillars are a little on the tall side 'If the blockout is done what do you do next? Sculpting the…
