Modular rock sculpts that will be used to build some mountains/cliffs. These were pretty fun to do and were a good lesson in Zbrush with dynamesh and morphs!
@Makkon @lamb It was a pretty simple process for making the rock face. I only used Jonas's brushes with this one. No sculpting really on my side. What I did was is I built up the forms with Jonas's larger detail brush and made those base forms interesting. Then I started using some more of the smaller detail brushes to add…
Jonas: Thanks man! actually, these are the base pieces that I made, before dynameshing them together (which means I'm probably doing it wrong, doh!). I wanted to go for a much larger scale rock, but also use these individual ones for smaller outcroppings. Going to try that tonight, wish me luck!
All great brushes that I use a lot. :) Also, depending on the rock's structure, I sometimes like to finish the sculpt off with some quick strokes of Crumple. Trim Adaptive with a square alpha is good for initial shapes too, but be sure to dynamesh a lot. Also, here you go https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7ZPC9pN8YY…
Nice work guys. Here's something of mine: It needs more, it is currently a WIP. I first took a sphere and then made it long and narrow. Then I used the clay tubes brush to build up the shapes, so I could then duplicate the mesh, dynameshing about 7 duplications of it together that gave some sharp intersections towards the…
Well it's mostly about the sculpting I guess, make 2/3 rock pieces, take those pieces into the same subtool duplicate and randomly place around pieces, get a good and random modular mesh. turn it into a dynamesh, make some seams between the meshes more normal looking fix things up and make it more random looking. then I…
Nothing special, really. Mostly following the tutorials posted here. So the process (which I barely modified) is: 1) Start with some basic mesh like a box or cylinder and make it a Dynamesh. Give it some basic shape so it doesn't look like a cylinder. 2) Copy the mesh and place it nearby, changing the shape and everything.…
