Master of the poopster - I'm gonna go for the decal-heavy approach with this project. Im learning the basics of Cryengine atm and I'm loving the defered decals. Cheap and sexy :)
Worked a little bit further into it, starting to block the environmental effects in such as the puddles. The concrete sides will be littered with decals for the graffti and other cracks further stains to break up the texture.
Ahh good sir, Lankus Maximus . How do you fare? So when it comes to news paper, letters, crumpled paper cigarette butt/packs etc I can get away with just a texture/alpha and normal. Thats it? just place em where I want em. As well should I put all of my decals on one seperate texture sheet specifically for just decals?…
Wow, nice breakdown, but I didn't think making a decal for paint on concrete blocks it's a good idea. Little update from me. Cloth looks weird. Looks like I need some rework on it.
Thank for advice. It's 1 piece of geometry with 4 different textures, yes. I just thinking with 1 texture these blocks will looks same. Even with a blood decals on it. (especially without it) Probably shouldn't do that, thanks again.
betaBug: is that 6 unique pieces of geometry with unique textures on all? In a normal production scenario, you would only have 1 unique piece of geometry and then have several blood stain decals placed on them in engine.
The graffiti will be Decals in the end, just fancied having a play with them XD Also thought I would show the barbed wire, its basically a 1024 x 256 tiling texture wrapping around the helix plane
