I just checked out ZBrush's subtool master but I can't seem to figure out how to export the whole mesh as a single obj. Surely it isn't that hard, right? But I can only seem to export everything as a separate obj. Worse, the only tutorial I can find is on digital-tutors and they want me to pay for that simple export…
why do you want it as one obj, it is much easier to manage sculpts in maya, or max as multiple objs. and what you could do is simply just join the subtools in zbrush first than export that.
You're right, passerby, I don't need to merge everything. I just learned that I can import all my individual sub tools and low polys in their respective slots and bake out occlusion that way. But merging visible worked so thanks to both of you for that.
