Mind if I ask how you went about the concrete floor? Did you break it up into a few modular slabs? One long strip with swappable normal maps? One big mesh?
Really pleased with how the staircase has come out. Decided to get most of the modelling out of the way so all thts left is texturing (including redo's, that concrete is horrible i know). I'm not going to get near finishing this and will keep working on it after the end of this month.
I have never used UDK so i spent a lot of time figuring it out than creating stuff. I need to figure out Vertex shaders so that I can paint cracks into the concrete and also onto the walls. I might redo the wall Textures depending on time. I have stairs Hi poly baked out with some of the roof as well. Just need to textures…
Well just spent 4 hours trying to figure out how to do the concrete floor. At first I was going to try and mimic the picture exactly, but then I realized that it will take longer then I actual want it to take for a floor texture. Instead I just took the tileable approach. Picture file includes the texture I used to make…
cmtanko : Hey man that looks way better , there's some things I would like to point out . The door it does looks stretch for some reason and the walls while the texture looks really good, something about the specularity of the bricks makes them looks like wallpaper rather than actual concrete. By the way you can set your…
Honestly the wall that has the door is fine, even if the door is only about 6.25 feet to perspective and most doors we're used to seeing are closer to 7. One of things that throws off the entire picture is how skewed the stairwell is. I've done a few drawings based off of his original perspective and horizon lines and the…
You've got a small redbrick texture under large painted white cinder-blocks. I don't... what? Also your texture creation method is rather outdated. If you're going for a photorealistic style then you should really be doing a tileable high-poly and baking out textures from that. For my cinder blocks, for example, I made…
