This is my first attempt at a modular environment for a university project, my concept I am aiming at is a cartoon style frontier village. I have still to add a few more props like cactus and a broken wagon. My tri limit is 15,000. any advice or constructive criticism is welcome :)
Thanks guys, the buildings seem a little less rigid when the textures are on, but is still a little visible, could be the way I have set the pivot points on the grid? there we go, sorry about the late reply, I just came off a dinner break. Don't pay too much attention to the out of place square on the building, thats just a seperate plane for a wanted poster :)
Generally, the environment terrain is made as one giant mesh, and roads are usually projected or painted on(old/dirt roads anyway). In other words:you don't have to be that accurate with your building placement and you don't have to make your village as a bunch of square blocks.
