I did a quick test in UDK for scale, then built these modules quickly to mock it up. Thankfully this scene is modular, there's so much detail in the art 0.o. I'll probably have to simplify it down. The mock-up:
I dont have more time for modelling today. So here is what i made. Started to making the electronical wall piece.I trying to make the parts modular, because this thing on the other side is a little different.
Ah cr*p, completely forgot about this, hopefully I'll be able to speed my way through most modular assets as hard-surface modeling is my strong side but I'm not sure if I can keep up with the rest of the process :(
Maya :) I'm possibly going to ignore that part of the concept to a large degree, replacing it with a large amount of my modular pipes. For the parts where the electronics must be, I'm going to model it after the guts of a computer- something I at least half understand from my computer building days.
Some Updates: Want to put it in C3 now - for Scale and Blockout purpose 1. Is it better to import the whole modular scene or just the assets i created and stitch them in Ce3 together ? 2. i exported the assets in one Group, but in cE3 i cant select the individuality . just as big block.. Thanks Obscura, for your reaction. i do it like you. i only don't have problems with the edge normals. maybe thats because i am in maya. I don't know if other people can add more info to this, Specially when you do use the modular uv method So please tell your way of uv mapping this. Thanks again.
