1. Max: xray/see-thru mode stopped being xray/see-thru

   Max is continually kicking my ass with shit like this. Minding my own business, doing whatever (skyrim outfits) and for whatever reason it decided to stop with the semi-transparency when i alt-X been persisting for a couple days now, so restarting doesn't fix it. Any ideas where should i look to fix this?

   Ugh. that's annoying. I don't have any recollection of being in that menu, so... whatever. Thanks, tho. edit: can that transparency be varied? the transparency in the object props page changes the trans but is an object change not just a ui effect.

   Nope. Alt-x is all or nothing. But you can use a shader to do a better effect, if you like. For example fresnel is a great technique (more solid on sides of model, more transparent in the middle).

   Your viewport transparency setting is probably turned off.
