Hi, guys im facing a problem in parenting my chaos knight's helmet. I'm a maya user, as for parenting, I selected my model and parent to the head joint called "head4" but the outcome was weird. http://imgur.com/l58nE2R this is the outcome of the head. Please help :(
but he said "move" the particles the particles are parented to an attachment that is parented to a bone and most of the times with some offset, to relocate it is just a matter of changing its position on the qc file about removing or creating you are right, we cant =]
@I-ninja there might be a vertex weighted or parented on a wrong bone. Try to delete the vertex groups and reparent the proper bones, and then clear out the weights and repaint it.
Hi Pickletron, Thanks for the advice :) , i have already solved it :D , i forgot to seperate parent the neck model and the head model to the different joints.
ok, its moves like its parented to the head? maybe you just positioned it wrong before exporting some of the model have mismatching scales depending when and where you got them
Do any of you wonderful people have a clue why this: http://i.imgur.com/rMYYVcD.gifv would happen when everything is perfectly fine in maya? Everything is skinned where it should be, the joints are parented correctly and I'm about to throw my computer out of the window.
Well for the right placement you have to import the doom model and use bones from that model and set the right bone as parent to your model. Which one should be mentioned on Valves requirements for the hero. For scale I'd just download his original sword and compare it in 3d editor.
man that is insane first, where did you get the qc file for phanton lancer? i cant believe you got it! =]]]] that will make everything more "undestandable" where you attach the cloth the sword? you dont need to at least create a attachment nad parent the bones to it? man, amazing, seriouslly =]
@beetrootChan I changed to maya as I was getting random errors in Max. No errors in Maya so far, never. I use 2013 sp2 and I use your same options BUT I export in 2010 FBX format (not 2012). I always select the geometry and then the whole skeleton (the parent node). Hope it helps.
