Had to report everything for next week due to Maya 2017,but luckily Quick Pipe and ShapeShifter both work like a charm on it :) Here's a Gif showing some basic stuff with it :-1:
Another thing to consider is a texture atlas, that will combine all of your textures into one big texture atlas. Example, 4 textures at 512x512 combined into 1 texture at 4k Just an idea :)
Your indirect resolution is low : try raising it to 2-4 , Also your indirect intensity, typically that value would be left at 1. How are your lightmap UVs being created?
For animation and feature film we still use the spec/gloss workflow most of the time. I personally find it easier to comprehend too when 1 = fully reflective and 0 = none.
Ah man thanks so much for all your hard work on this guys. Xoliul 1 is still my favourite realtime/viewport shader by a mile. Really looking forward to playing with this.
I really enjoy Arrimus 3D's videos. He's clear and concise. Each video is typically not more than 30 minutes without 1:30 worth of music and logo anims.
Is http://www.eizo.com/products/coloredge/cg277/ unnecessary for the price? I don't mind the price if it will aid in creating correct values, unless it is unnecessary. My price range is from 1-2k.
First render I used a 3 point lightning setup (skyportal) and the other 2 I used a 1 Skyportal on top. For the textures I used a composite map for the body/stickers.
its also possible that the gigatexel engine isnt loading the high resolution texture... try to turn it off in the prefs... and set the brush sample area to 1... also in the preferences in the paint tab...
