Definitely. The original took a whole day. The remake took an hour. I'm realizing now as I'm older that talent only takes me so far. I am intent on practicing every day. Learning to use new programs and build my cart of skills to go beyond just photoshop while still maintaining some semblance of basic fundamentals.
Yay updates! Nice to see some movement on this. One thing I would like to see a bit more after you have the main bits fleshed out, is more of a 'lived in' feel. Trinkets, carts, waste bins, etc. Anything that might give it more function than just 'being a halway'. Cool to see you using layered materials.
Hey Skillmister - Send me an email - tanner@remotecc.com. I can tell you what's up. @warren - Thanks man, the subscription is just the most obvious answer. I mean, we want to keep making textures and I have employees here helping me. Anyhow, the a'la cart option should be here within the next few weeks.
I have to call this environment done for now, because I'm heading out for GDC tomorrow. I got everything I wanted finished except for adding in the carts. If the shadowy side of the street looks like it's lacking grunge, it's because decals don't work in shadows in UE4 version 4.6.1, haha. Comments and critique are very…
Definitly It's time to update this thread :) (2015) Textures for Manufactura K4 https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/search/page=1/sortby=relevance/query=publisher:585 (2016) Some works for my Unity Asset Store https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/search/page=1/sortby=popularity/query=publisher:20854/ And…
@killazzz Cheers mate yeah it's getting there slowly but surely. I was planning on adding a different variation of the tree, although I have uploaded an image of my current WIP and it shouldn't be looking as obvious now, let me know what you think. I also started adding some grass into the foreground and will add a prop,…
I have an original gameboy, cracked, stained, with the screencover removed and the power tab on the top cut off (so it fits colour carts) that I found last week in an old box. I stuch in tetris (from 1994!) and it still worked perfectly. the batteries had to have been in their for at least 6 years. I should have taken a…
@Sunyan Looking good already! Can't wait to see your progress on it. Only thing I noticed that seems a bit out of place from the concept is that your cart body (blue part) seems significantly wider. I don't think that's a major issue I just worry that it might throw the proportions off a bit. Like with the wider body the…
Ugh, Good old Games has me hooked. I'm already starting to fill up my shopping cart with classic titles. That Dungeons and Dragons package is looking especially enticing. I've always meant to give Planescape: Torment a try, and it's bundled with a bunch of other critically acclaimed D&D games for $21. I also can't pass up…
Basically the terrain and unique pieces like the NPP and such are modeled then grouped in Maya and exported as one mesh. Things like the train carts and other objects that are instanced through the level are there own separate objects that can be imported as props. Theres load of games that are completly modeled in a 3d…
