@tacit math right on man, glad your digging it, i apologize for the shitty video quality, i will try and upload a better quality one later, i was also using a mouse as my wacom pen died on me... it felt a bit weird using a mouse for something like this.
Nice to see people joining in :) Torch: looking great :) Hatred: Could picture that guy in the dishonored universe or it could be Wayne Rooney :) Here is what I got done during lunch, yes it is a "steampunk" wacom pen, still quite some to do on it before starting on the lowpoly and textures :)
That might work if they wrote a driver for you to plug your Wacom into the USB port to be used as the touchscreen. Sure that's unhandy and it'd be both cheaper and easier to just buy a DS but hell, we're trying to think like warezers here, right? Nothing is too expensive to get "free" games!
Weiser_Cain: try putting a sheet of paper on top of the tablet when you paint.. it will feel more like sketching with a regular pencil. Mister Sentient: i use a wacom volito, the cheapest one they've got. it works as long as you arent used to drawing with your whole arm.
Still have a some time before the comp is launched to dust off the wacom pads and remove the old cans off the desks. Glad to see you guys are pumped, it's no longer just GA vs PC . Now we have a few new teams to play with in the sand box.
1. get one of the small wacoms 2. Make a new 512x512 photoshop document 3. http://cgtextures.com BONUS ROUND 4. I think I took this book out from the uni library alot in 2008.
I used the ikea flat desk. Almost looked like a work bench. My power strip was bolted underneath and all was good. $70 is not bad. Held three computers 2 monitors a large wacom and other stuff.
^ This. I use Modo's default and jump back and forth between a lot of programs that use Maya's navigation with ease, you will be fine. As someone said above, the default style fits really well when using a wacom tablet.
Just make sure you follow Dr.s orders, or whatever does not heal right will have to be fixed in the future. Everything will be fine. Unless it has to get cut off, then you are gonna need to get a Wacom Claw attachment.
overkill. I doubt you'll get a lot more productivity out of this rig vs. one half the cost. At least instead of investing in SSDs or SLI invest where it matters - buy more ram or a nice wacom...heck for that money you can get a decent work PC and Cintiq! :)
