hey @artbywaqas try turning on the preserve mesh input connections. I remember that causing some oddities if it was in groups. Could also be a Maya 2016 thing :( -

Ok so it started crashing after it worked for 2 times. Went to Maya 2016 and directly pasted this script . Tested 10 times works fine. -

Sounds strange. With a completely new scene and simply isolated test failing I'd say it's some kind of bug. Works well in my Maya 2016. -
