DirectX view is annoying like that. Use a custom shader instead, it doesn't cause the undo to slow down. Google JIStyle's skin shader or Ben Cloward's HLSL normal map shader and use one of those instead of using the standard preview. the rainbow kills it,- otherwise nice texture work. There seem to be quite a few faces wasted also some of the triangle counts are imo a bit high compared to what the wireframe shots intend to shape and define of the object.
Not sure if you wanted to see with wireframe and texture so I posted both :) and I definitely want to get more into more complicated weapons. Very excited to learn more about maya and build more.

I tried out the demo today and it was absolutely beautiful! I love the artwork. Sometimes it was hard to believe the amount of triangles that were visible in wireframe when your close up to something. Good performance too!
Got two new screens one with baked model and one with wireframe, feedback is appreciated. Once again im terrible at rendering so they are just simple screenshots from 3ds max. 3d version of it here.
I would also think about putting what Country/City you are living in for potential employers. You could also show your wireframes and textures flats to show you are making things efficiently.
