Well, this is odd. If you want to run a more radical test to see if the second monitor actually works and all your connections/cables are fine, you can simply turn off the pc, unplug current first monitor and leave the new one plugged. It shouldn't matter what plug it's connected to if there's only one device, then turn on…
My work colleagues discover two new ancient worlds in galaxy next-door. Two new planets orbiting a very old star in our nearby galaxy, known as Kapteyn's star, are reported in a new study by an international team of astronomers, including University researchers. One of these planets around Kapteyn's star could be ripe for…
I'm back! :) I've decided to put my game modding activities on hold for a longer time now and try to get used to next gen character modeling. I have basic knowledge of ZBrush already, but got kinda dusty since I never had to use it for the old game I was working on all the time. As I already had began to model a tiger, I…
On one hand me too, but realistically I'm just glad that for once my 2 year old components can still run the newest games flawlessly on the highest settings. A few years back having a 2 year old PC meant 800x600 and low/medium settings.
Well I have a list of 10 games from the steam christmas sale to play. (never mind the 10 other games I haven't got around to from previous sales...) First up, I'm playing Metro 2033 and Prince of Persia. PoP 2008 is a really lovely looking game with just fantastic environments! gameplay feels fun and smooth and it seemed…
i'm with 'who cares'. It's all a matter of taste, personally i prefer reading a good novel over playing whatever awesome game. Better graphics equal bigger hollywood explosions and the stories and gameplay in games still can't hold a candle against a good old book. One day it might, but i suspect it will go down the path…
I played this yesterday along with Polaris, and I'm glad you posted this here so I don't have to register somewhere else to comment. :) First of all, I think what you're doing is great. I've spent a lot of time thinking about non-violent "action verbs" (thanks Warren Spector master class) that could be explored in…
The main reason that snapping them to the "old" mesh's vertices is the main reason I'm doing this product: The vertices fluctuate too much, so the model's specific proportions aren't always clear. I might not be clear in exactly what this is asking for. I'm trying to take the model's UV layout and use that for…
Most likely it is normals that are causing this problem. Having normals that point upwards makes sense for grass, but for plants like these, it will remove any shading such mesh might have. I would reset the normals to their default state. Once you do that, if your shading looks too strong or too contrasting, then the…
The wall texture looks pretty nice! For the pillars, I think they're a little too soft and muddy in some areas. One thing I like to do with stones and most hard surfaces is applying noise over the entire thing. Nothing major, but it helps give the surface a little more texture. And when you bake it down, it isn't so…
