The painting is definitely looking much better! Nice job Have you tried messing with the sil yet? Maybe extruding the wrapped cloth? Oh and personal preference but when you display the model can you remove the grid?
Wowee, it's been a scary few days there peoples. I don't see a Polyfragger page but prolly a waste of web space these days. Without a full time server etc., etc. Good to see yas alive and well. sal
you could make a word bank in an sql data form, collect suggestion submisions and vote on the ones you'd like to see made perm? Or create a 2nd site with all user defined words and descriptions for total chaos.

Hard vs soft edges. On those sort of angle changes, you'd want to put a hard edge, so it doesn't try to average the normals/tangents at those extreme amounts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTJ-pryZFQk
The "Preserve UVs" check-box is right up there with the "Ignore Backfacing" option as well. Their only purpose is to mock you relentlessly. Just under "Point to Point Seam" there is an option for "Edge Sel To Seams". Does that not do the job for you?
Small update. Concepting out sil B here. I'm kinda digging where this character is going. I don't want it to be too far into the future or anything... just like, 10, 15 years? *edit* -removed image
I couldn't keep it under 2MB, so I don't know if that is affecting you in your conditions. Stil, here is the direct link for the swf (right-click and "save as"): http://oneupontherock.webege.com/Shifting-Grid-Topology-Keys.swf Cheers
