Well, it's a matter of differant things really. Those pics are taken from a "quick" compile, so there is a VIS(PVS) going on. Everything in the entire BSP is being drawn there. It performs much faster on a full compile. I'm also running a GeForce 6800GT card, so that helps. I also have a water_lod entity in the level. This… -

www.newegg.com is the best place to shop for computer parts, i just got a 8800gt for like $120 from them, just make sure you have a pci-express slot or most of the newer cards wont work in your pc. If you've got an agp port you should look at something in the geforce 6800 range, i think those are the best you can hope for… -

I picked up one of the Gateway FX notebooks at Best Buy for 1250.00 +free game. I was shocked first off that I was buying a gateway, but second off just how nice of a machine it really is. The design and build quality are IMO very high quality. It is pretty nice too that the only thing that cant be upgraded is the FX card… -

Hey, I d/loaded demo5 to check it out. But I get a windows memory access violation error and it quits before loading. ( the level, not the front end ) Dell Pentium4 2.8 ghz, 1.5 gig Ram and an Nvidia 6800 Ultra. hope this helps. -
