343 Industries is looking for a Senior Texture/Material Artist to join our Environment Art team. To qualify for this position we are looking for senior level experience and a super strong portfolio. PM me for more details. Cheers!
Wasn't happy with the block head so I added some head detail ... Also added some more detail to the legs and arms. Model now sitting at 400 tris. Increased head texture to 256x256. I think the original quake models were around 300 tris without accessories and around 400 with.
Yeah if this happened when we were still working with 343 on Halo 4 stuff this sort of thing could have put that project/contract in jeopardy. luckily it seems DE is doing really well with Warframe and don't need to worry about anything like that happening.
If you want an example of a clean, but creative resume, you could see mine as a possible example. I have yet to get a critical "this is too much" critique from anyone. https://cdnb.artstation.com/p/resume_files/attachments/000/003/527/original/Brian_Choi_Resume.pdf?1511826593
Looks like it's pointing at an old version of the OBJ loader preferences dialog command (these scripts were written for 501) and it now wants a units argument. Try swapping line 203 which should be lx.eval("!!loaderOptions.wf_OBJ false true") with lx.eval("!!loaderOptions.wf_OBJ false true Meters")
thanks dude! Yeah I suppose the silhouette is a bit similar but the contents are far different so I'm not too concerned. did a warlock staff sculpt tonight but it's a bit too detailed to fit into 300 triangles so I'm going to re design it a bit :x
Speed-sculpt for the evening. Done so much work on the griffon as of lately but he's still not done yet. Still will have to adjust his wings and detail them. Other than that the low poly is sitting at 23k + wings maybe... or hopefully 30k but I'll have to see.
Long term, learning to do repairs yourself will save you a lot of money. I can put new brakes on my car for $60 plus an hours time, or I can pay a shop to do it for $300. Most repairs are extremely easy.
1.5k to 2k is definitely on the extremely low end, 7k-30k is about the normal range for current gen console games. Most video game artists skip demo reels, a image based portfolio is just a good and quicker for potential employers to look at.
Sounds like a plan Bonebrew... I'll whip one up tommorow. Aajohnny suggested i put in some wireframe shots, what are peoples thoughts on this? I'm not sure if such LP objects (300-600 tris in most cases) need much elbouration?
