Fizzly Thanks for the feedback, done just that now, no more modifiers involved, still 1 click solution. Someone else on Twitter actually suggested the same, to skip the modifier. Meanwhile been working on an icon for the 'Smooth by UV' tool Other icons got some more unified color language as well (active, move, modify,...) -

How are you meant to wrap around the pistol grip patterns without using an ffd modifier? Having a hard time finding any info on that, and the use of skin wrap modifier in max. Not quite sure what you're after here but if you are using the skin modifier then you can save the skin file. Its in advanced settings. Save the skin, delete the modifier. As long as the vert numbers on the new mesh are the same then the skin will load fine. Or you can use the skin wrap modifier for the working mesh to the… -

Beware, you have modifiers in your stack which are topology-dependent. If you change the vertex count below them, the modifier will either be reset (uvw unwrap) or the topology will be messed up (edit poly). It is best to work with as short a stack as possible. Why don't you just mirror the object itself instead of copying an Unwrap UVW modifier? It really sounds like an odd way to work, especially since copying Unwrap UVW modifiers requires that the geometry (number of verts, vert id etc.) has to be identical. Thanks Celosia. I assume you still only can paint on a single image target only? So each brush stroke goes to only albedo , or only bump , or only roughness channel and using silent stroke recording to paint on other images as well has a same issue Photoshop has when it records strokes but dosen't record brush dab spacing… -

Hi! You could model the missing geometry, create an additional UV set and unwrap, then transfer/bake textures from original to new UV set. Once baked, you would have to improvise/fill the texture for the missing parts of the body using the existing ones as reference. Could of course create a highpoly (I assume none exists)… -

I'd love to see an update as well, but I agree that the current version for Max is already great and understand there might not be a lot of demand. You can group islands in the UV editor or do name selection sets on a per face basis for editable poly or mesh objects, but both are fairly fleeting. Another more permanent… -

Well, I'm not sure why you'd need to use the lattice modifier here. And even if you did, that's a lot of subdivisions; will the model even have enough vertices itself for that amount of detail on the lattice to be effective on the car? I think you should try to just focus on modeling for now; ignore deformation modifiers.… -
