don't use that tutorial, it contains lots of incorrect information. there's a page on the polycount wiki dedicated to pointing out all the errors in it.
Yeah I feel you there, it atleast keeps it a little more contained but I do prefer full old school threads a lot of the time. Thankfully we still have polycount :)
Learn how to use Substance Painter and/or Mixer to combine and modify materials, so you're not just at the mercy of what the Megascans library contains, but it's perfectly fine to make use of the Megascans library.
Worked on this little guy a couple of weeks ago. Making a container for it. High poly done started working on the LowPoly so that I can take into Substance next. C&C are welcome :)
It contains lots and lotsss of custom models and textures. Not much stock stuff here. This level has terrain made with GeoControl and a custom skybox made with PS, made to blend with the levels mountains.
e.g. adding one small container that looks biochemical, radioactive or nuclear... and then it can be any size deviceyou need AS the suggested explosion is "extra lethal" I do have a point somwhere :|

Round pillars sound alright, but they wouldn't fit the architectural style of the room which contains hard and extrured plains seen in pictures above. But thank you for the suggestion, I appreciate that. Cheers!
