I'm not sure if mipping is enabled, or how to access it, but the area is still noticeable ...but only if you zoom right in and go looking for it. Otherwise, it's really not going to be seen.

About the shadows, you can try enabling contact shadows. And yea the fog is not ideal, maybe a landscape in the distance

Some image formats applies color correction. Try enabling/disabling srgb on the mentioned texture inside Unreal.

There's per poly collision you can enable in the Static Mesh Editor, but it's very slow and not as robust as convex hulls.
