So what? Children aren't supposed to play GTA anyway. Tell the parents they should not let their children buy games rated M as in 17+ if they don't like their children playing inappropriate games. -

fwiw .. Maya's transform display is equivalent to setting Max's to "Parent" it's probably also worth mentioning that in max you don't need to freeze transforms every third click because it handles everything for you -

The keys position/rotation are relative to their parent, so you should be able to move the root back to 0/0/0, clear its keys, and have a normal walk cycle. Is that what you mean? -

For the advanced user you may want to look into an off-site server(at your parents house or something) running some kind of SVN/Subversion. It's not optimal for binary files but it works and gives great control. -
