After the 2008 market crash, I'm hesitant to say stable careers exists. With the rise of taxes, property costs etc, employers (in all industries) are just not taking risks in who they hire. They just want to cut costs at every corner so that means hiring people with enough skills hoping that they don't demand more money.… -

$500 is a bargain for a course this length, there are less helpful game art courses here in Singapore that charge that much for a 3 hour session each week. Wish I could join but it's still a lot to choke up... -

Unless you are modding for a Super Nintendo, these polycounts are fine. You need to realize that we aren't in the 1980s anymore, and your computer / platform can handle a LOT more polys than it used to. Even modding for a PSP has some impressive limitations. Granted, if these are small small objects, keep the counts… -

Ozymandias: I worked on home city buildings ... typical polycount for building would be in the 1700 to 2100 poly range. Cathedrals were usually higher poly than that.
