The artwork is really nice, but can I ask you for a small favor? Clean the windows on that Helicopter up. No self respecting Hind pilot would let his windows get that dirty unless all the grease monkey's were dead, and then he might even clean it himself! :)
Hey all. This is a project I've been working on for a little while now, and its something I'm not usually keen on attempting...That being more stylized character designs. This was originally going to be a pilot for a starship, but quickly evolved. Below was the first sketch I did for the character concept. CC welcome.
http://www.cnn.com/2006/TECH/fun.games/05/24/video "His ultimate goal is to clamp down on medical errors that are estimated to contribute to 100,000 deaths each year in the United States by giving surgeons training tools akin to flight simulators used by pilots." Nice. Take that, Liebermann!
Spare time has been few and far between but I blocked out the pilot, sculpted the body and modeled the helmet. It's been a journey, this is wayyy out of my comfort zone. I have to finish the gloves and seatbelt then I'll be ready to do final beauty renders.
Yeah, got my old mouse working again and did some more work on the pilot console: Have to add some holo projection devices for the main screen and the two side screen. Will also add some panel lines on the side parts with normal painting.
The face of the pilot with the American flag backdrop looks Asian, but the samurai's face looks Caucasian. I agree that your vehicles look a lot better than your characters. I didn't even click it until JTerry mentioned, because I ignored the squished image.
Hmmm, reminds me of the Caudron C 460 which was a golden age racer. The cockpit is a bit different I think, and the wheels come from the wing in the caudron. Just the place for my pilot-geekness to come in handy. I will see if I can get a picture.
Hehe.. thanks Adam for the crit.. i think im in a slump for vehicles.. thanks for the crit!! I WILL WORK HARD!!! *determined* anyways, merry x-mas to you all.. i finished my pilot seiries.. now i gotta work on the uniforms.. C&C?
Started working on the low poly version of the pilot chairs. These were kind of wierd to work off of because the film doesn't help that much because you can only see the top part of them and the actual concept art done by Ron Cobb is slightly different to the movie props.
Hmm, I'm wrong, seems he was optimistic for how it would perform, even after test audiences were confused and gave it low ratings... then again, he said the same thing happened with the test pilot episode of the original version. We shall see. I predict failure
