Progress in forearm: I will remove or fix that bevel in top surface. Doesn't look good. There are also terrible n-gons in high poly, but don't care cause they don't show up in normal map. I changed my poly budget from 2000 to 5000-7000. -

I'm not sure on the technicalities but they proxy animate and transfer the data across, Ie they use a system of weighting on a rig that matches closely/if not exact to the high-poly rig and animate through that. +1 last year I was able to build an i5, 16gb ram, 128gb SSD system for just under 500$ by recycling my power supply, case, GPU and secondary storage. Just make sure all your connectors match up. I had to get a couple parts i thought i could recycle because they were still running on IDE connections -

Aha yeah, the uniform colour is definitely a more performant solution, but on cliff faces like in the video it would be pretty visible until you get really far. And it's pretty expensive in engine, on one of my materials (that has other nodes as well) I'm getting 500+ instructions. Will try to make this more performant! -

There's actually quite a bunch of possibilities hinted at here - after all, games are pretty much the reason why the general public has access to such massively powerful workstations in the first place. If this can push software vendors to port more stuff to Linux, along with more gaming studios releasing rock solid games… -
