The scripts are written in Mel and I'm using maya 2013. You're right about giving a specific question. I'll look around the internet for help in understanding programming. Thanks
the mip_matteshadow node is probably what you are looking for. its not exposed to the interface by default, but you can create one from the Mel command line like this createNode mip_matteshadow
Bugo thanks for the reply. I use these methods all ready. I was just hoping that I was missing this function somewhere in Maya's interface or someone had a mel script.
gah cant lose you to the darkside of maxscript haiddasalami, your so dam helpful already with the ton of python and mel questions for maya i asked already hehe.
[ QUOTE ] Umm, what are these melee mods you speak of? [/ QUOTE ] Look up Chaos UT in google, and there is a mod that adds weird weapons both as a mutator, and a game type. One of Chaos UT's game types is "Duel" where two characters go at it with melee weapons in a single room, with soem fairly reasonable melee controls.…
It's not a ridiculous question ;) try this in the "MEL" field in the lower left: selectPref -useDepth false; this toggles selection of stuff "behind". The "false" allows selections of vertices or edges in the back.
Very interesting -- looks great! I'm putting the script in MEL and executing, but the Normal Tools menu isn't appearing. Do I have to do something else?
hmm this is a tough one. The only character I know that's named Porter was Mel Gibson in payback.. but that was a late 90's movie and not so family friendly lol
