Thanks yeh my new concept is pretty special, I have to finish it this week though so it might take a while until I get to my other pieces. This concept is not for props guy #5032 concept by Björn Norström a friend. Johny All images are from the maya viewport in real time, should I get some other viewer? Any one out there…
Max 90%, Maya 10%. I just know Max too damn well, and although I know the basics in Maya, it usually takes me five times as long to do anything. However XSI at $500 for personal use is getting quite tempting, and that program's workflow seems very logical from what I have seen.
Well actually the more I play with it the better I’m understanding the brilliances of the logic. It’s frustrating as hell as I’m finding out, as only a handful of people seem to know the construct of the custom tag system being used. Something I think is a problem doing it the way I was putting it together is the…
@alexrc I need to retract my post. It's not anti-aliasing. I'm pretty sure it's your near clip. When I created a cube 5000x5000x5000, I got artifacts as you are describing until I changed my camera near clip to around 10,000 which fixed the issue. If it was anti-aliasing, you would be seeing it on small objects too, and…
Great idea. But you need to execute that concept very well. Don't copy styles too closely, bring your own artistic strengths to the piece but stay true to the general aesthetic of the company and the concept. If you really nail it, you should have a great piece! I'd suggest trying not to pick concept too locked into one…
Baking is finally done! I followed Shepeiros tip and flipped it all, works out great! It landed on a little less than 5000 tris, now to do the texture. Here is a screengrab from max viewport, gonna either put it into marmoset or use Xoliuls 3dsmax shader
oh ya, and for my laptop above, I paid 500 US at best buy [on sale]. And alienware's are overpriced and bad quality, so stay the hell away from them. and as stated above hp's are great.
Yeah, every gun i do here uses a 2048. That being said you should think more about the distance you'de see this at then anything. You dont want to go too high res if you're not going to see it upclose, because any of those little details you model to show up in a highres map will get washed out from a medium distance. So…
Awesome stuff!!! Such a shame the images are so small :( This site is awesome http://www.denofgeek.com/movies/286589/top_75_spaceships_in_movies_and_tv.htm http://www.denofgeek.com/movies/186027/top_50_sexy_scifi_costumes.html My movies to watch list has just grown over 500% in just 5 minutes!l
