As I understand it with alpha clip the transparent pixel are the problem because every transparent pixel on top takes extra rendering time. In order, here is what I did: 1. Rebuilt the highpoly model. 2. Made a normal map from the high poly model. This got rid of the black mark. I'm still not pleased with it.
