You should check out NEX. It offers a lot of the preview functionality that max has on a lot of tools. I'm not sure how stable it is with newer versions, I've heard it's been kind of buggy in 2011 and I haven't tried it since 2009. Considering you have to pay for it, it better be rock solid... But I think you can try… -

Many People were hoping for new Modeling tools, Many people hope for Many things to be Put in Maya. I was hoping for maybe a slightly better Bend Deformer.. Hope At least we still have CreativeCrash. -

@ ZacD & CreativeHD, I don't think I can sell them, but I can definitely print you guys one. I can do a few without magnets and a little thinner (They're ~4mm thick) if you want to use them as coasters, although I'm not sure how well they would work. The bottom of my coffee cup tips into the mouth. -

I don't think just because this is mainly a game art forum people can't post other CG related art here. Learning new techniques like Maya layered shaders is always helpful and can help familiarize oneself with node based shaders which will make you more comfortable in something like UDK. It can also help your creativitiy… -

Hi CreativeSheep! This is not recommended, especially with PBR. Specular map should be quite "Clean" with very specific values, so this would not produce correct results. -
