I haven't used those, but I have two external LaCie Quadras connected via an eSATA card, and they work great. eSATA is very fast. http://www.lacie.com/us/products/product.htm?pid=11156 To give you an idea of the difference, here's from their specs page... eSATA: up to 3Gbits/s (300MB/s) FireWire 800: up to 800Mbits/s…
I'm just sending my GTX460 768Mb back. Apparently both the 400 and 500 series have a bug or something making them to stop showing the picture after a certain time. BUT i can still recommend it, if it works ;) Otherwise it's just the hassle of switching it.
As someone who thought that the Cintiq Companion 2 would be good enough for my needs (Maya, ZBrush, Substance and Photoshop) I have the following tip: don't. Integrated graphics chips are the worst. Especially substance ran absolutely terribly and Maya froze constantly and could not smoothly handle meshes larger than 50k…
Looks good. What's the rate of capture frequency breakdown per configuration? I assume the 500mhz is only for 6 sensors. What's the rate for 18? Also can you edit the measurements of your biomechanical model to improve accuracy? I have lots of experience with the noitom suit, and getting optimal results out of it. I am…
"A small open world game" even that takes a huge amount of time, manpower and technical experience. To give you context, watch dogs 2 had over 500 people working on it fulltime for 2+ years. Watch the credits roll on your favorite game and you will be shocked. Its like claiming you are going to climb mt everest when you…

Thanks Adam & Hboybowen! I wonder how a couple of large persistant cities and 500 + inhabitants would go in those maps.... still great to see those big wide open spaces, even if they are sparse.
I just did a simple test with Modo 501sp2 and xNormal 3.17.5.41306 x86. Save high poly with vertex colors RGB or RGBA map (I tested both ways) as COLLADA DAE. Save low poly as COLLADA DAE as well, to make sure everything matches up scale wise. I'm not sure what you mean by "basic material colours", Try baking only the…
I have to say I havent seen many mobile games actually use normal maps. Retopologising the high res would be a good plan but you will have to make a seriously low poly model depending on your game, a whole mobile environement including all models can usually weigh in around 8000-10000 triangles. So just as a hypothetical…
