Wanted to play with characters today. I went for a Pixar esque look. I'm still learning a lot about portraits so I'm not to happy with how this came out, but the journey to get here was really fun and educational.
It seems to me that the concept looks a bit "noisy" - too many bright yellow accents, crystals everywhere.
The only element that stands out clearly is the red cloth on the waist. But maybe it's better to make an accent in the portrait area?
No problem now, I think it was something to do with my Polycount account, not your images. The digital piece you made, (above the hand piece) is really nice. The face looks like an old Flemish portrait painting.
Heres the final submission already uploaded to the workshop. An historical portrait of noble weaponry as a longsword and helmet replacement. A richly decorated set for high ranked warriors http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=323099795 Reference Images
Ditto, it gives a professional yet badass look to the holy knight. That portrait! Update of DK Sword: I'm actually pretty happy about how this is turning out! It's come a very long way in the past few days.

Hi folks. My first post here on Polycount. Thought I would kick of with my latest portrait. Koba. Critique welcome. Included in the link below is a time-lapse video and a small image tutorial on Fiber mesh should anyone need a little help in that area. Thanks Jonathan http://youtu.be/E32HihegHRI
Wish you'd gone with bigger details, especially on the headpiece. Even in the in-game portrait view the details completely disappear, I suppose because the texture doesn't have enough resolution to show them all. The masks are a little odd on the hair as well. The other pieces are quite decent though!
Started creating some of the portraits and they are hard to find the right ones. i have recently tried my hand in substance painter so what do yous think? the left frame is from DDO and the right one is from substance painter, i think the right one is better.
@Valerien; Thank you for your input, perhaps it looks like I am working on portrait because I have used the different mat for it. I should've sticked with the gray. And I agree, you are right, I should / will be breaking these down in to muscles and bony structures to study it thoroughly.
