Nice, Hawkprey! I cant wait to see some more of GOW being played by Cliffy B. tomorrow at the XBOX360 event in the desert... Hope I get a copy of the GOW art book. What do you know about the art book? Is it going to be published for the public or is it just some sort of in-house publication?
Thanks for the feedback, I know zZerg are very slimy, but I wanted to go for a desert zerg, one that was unique, because he is an experiment. This guy doesn't need creep etc. as for a gloss map, in marmoset spec and gloss are the same so where would I plug an extra map into?
What is Iran, or any middle eastern country, going to do with thei oil reserves besides sell them? I mean, if they didn't get constant shipments of food, their populations would starve to death. They live in the desert, so it isn't really that great of a bargaining chip after all.
yes lets give these robots that turn into cars the propper respect they deserve.. ok they deserve no respect, they are just tools to entertain/make a buck do whatever you want with it.
Swirl could be even better -> bringing more movement to the picture(give life to dead desert , contrast is always good ) , and ties nicely with traveling theme If you are more adventurous you could give this swirl of sand eyes/face and end up with new character - sand spirit/fairy something playful or just a mirage
Honestly, I never thought about telling a story. I was trying to make it look like it was realistic that I sort of left the other details behind. I like your ideas of the finger prints and desert sand on it. Maybe I'll play with the textures a bit more then and see what I can come up with. Thanks for the advise!
Thanks for the replies folks. I guess the more tribal the design, the more Rengar-like. Could you imagine a Rengar-design with a bit different character? ...like: - Archangel Rengar - Monster-hunter Rengar - Desert-ranger Rengar - Gladiator champion Rengar - Juggernaut Rengar - Battleworn Rengar Which one do you find…
I have searched everywhere I could for a solution to my problem, but to no avail. I am trying to make my own custom skybox for rendering, but the lighting does not happen like in the preset environments. Only the ambient shows up. Why is this happening? (images are rendered with blue sky preset and my custom desert one)
Agreed, fairly solid. The desert ground in the first image is too flat, with no variation. You can also notice the texture tiling very easily. I would add a lot of rocks, variation in ground textures, and foliage. The blimp thing looks great! Only thing is that it should look like the props are spinning. Nice work!
so still trying to finish this. as I preferred the outdoor lighting in marmoset toolbag and because of some design choices I kinda changed the concept and it's now a Whale class transport ship roaming the deserts of what remains of earth. Started on the textures yesterday so still much to go, wish I had more time.
