Hey little update, I started working on a skull to start from the ground up. For the moment it is a proportion and some early details. Here are some results ! Here, I wanted to know if I was on the right road to continue or if there were things to change. I used skull ref but not for the bottom :s Thank you !
Spent today doing this: I decided to use Designer instead of Painter, so I can more easily use the same patterns and color pallets as I did in the tiling materials. I also re-baked the skull atlas, with some teeth missing from certain skulls.
That seam down the skull center is because you don't have enough edge padding at that seam. You've got it right against the edge. Move the uv's for the skull down a tad. The runes on the hammer spell out the name of it, 'Ghal Maraz'. It's written on both sides in the Dwarf rune language.
while I love it, not sure how I feel about the mouse head shoulders...I mean...it would be kinda wierd to see a human with human heads as shoulders if this person was suppose to be god of man (and I don't mean skulls, well, even skulls would be wierd for a god of man)
Wow - how did I miss this one? Great character and really nice texturing :) I've got to agree with the comments about the leg tattoo as well though- the realistic skull doesn't fit with the universe of a such a stylised character. I would either make the skull tat as stylised as the character or swap it out for something…
Putting Luna mount texturing ( about 75% complete ) on hold for a short while to update the Pudge Warpath set with an alternative hook weapon, and changes to the left arm and belly ( removed the skull and exposed bone, removed spear tip in belly) to make the set fit better with the Chinese restrictions on…
Thanks guys. I haven't been able to do a whole lot the last few days, but I'm trying to get a little in every day. Started working the base of the skull. It still needs a lot more work, but I'm going to try and get quite a bit more finished on the skull tomorrow.
A lot of good points. I like the model but feel it needs some color separation between the horns and skull. In game side/top shots it just bleeds into one shape. Some gradient (dark at base of horns) fading to light eeither on horns or skull would help a lo9t I think/.
thanks guys.. i bought a rams skull on ebay, the horns actually slide off the skull with a little muscle, i can put them back on after i make my mold. but i still have a lot more sculpting to do, haven't got in there to do the fine details yet.
