There was an update to Carver today along with updated documentation. The new update adds a function to remove vertices that have less than three edges, which is helpful for cleaning up world geometry. See the docs for info on this new utility function. -

You can use the polish functions in the "deformation" tab in the tool palette. You can experiment with the different functions and also with open and closed circle. Open circle will try to maintain the forms while closed circle (a circle with a point in the center) will not. -

Thank god you put tape on it, or else it wouldn't of been next gen spec! What's with the fad with tape on guns? A lot of the time people just put that crap on there randomly to increase the indie functionality on it. I see NO functionality of it being there. -

Some TexTools functions no longer work with newer Max versions (if I remember correctly) - From 2012 onwards though, Max's UV editor has gotten a lot better, including their normalising function..
