@jasonshum sounds good! I want to try a slightly unconventional edit of the reel with this anim included and would be great to get some eyes on it before making it live. Will PM you the link this weekend.
Yeah, they did an amazing amount of tech and artistry in this game. Here's an interview (originally in Japanese) about some of the tech, including info about the Colossus' and Argo IK... http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/File:Making_of_sotc.pdf
Okay, I have cleaned up every Quixel file including registry, also reinstalled PS and checked HDD's. Still dDo fails to launch and I am out of ideas now
Can you show your result and maybe include the file with it? It is quite hard to work out what is going wrong to fix the problem if Quixel does not know what is exactly going wrong.
I also have a blog that details the processes of my work, including this piece. If you're interested, it can be found here: http://tchukart.blogspot.co.uk/2015/10/monster-hunter-design-oryctomus-creature.html
Usually I see FBX files, those usually don't include the full rig don't they? I don't really have experience in animation though, might try some simple ones.
Great model and texturing! I have a question though, may you include multiple closeup shots into one image? I though it was only one image, one closeup and one wireframe?
Agree with the 'Chaos Theory' being one of the classics. Everything came together with splinter cell for that game including the awesome soundtrack by Amon Tobin! Will download soon as I get back from work.
SDK won't help you here, this part is a complete blackbox - it's a part of the codebase not included with the SDK with no relevant methods in the header files. If there's a way to keep track of the history, it will have to be some clever hack.
nvm my last ignorant post. I found dynamite tutorial on house modeling+UV+texturing. All steps included. Now I just have to knuckle down and follow along.
