lots of traditional and digital painting tutorials on youtube. Lots. I like the tutorials from Aaron Blaise a lot. He was an illustrator/animator for many of the classic disney films. Even though I am not doing stylized textures I watch his content a lot just to soak in the art fundamentals.
http://kotaku.com/disney-shuts-down-lucasarts-468473749 No more action here... Some 150 people were laid off, and both of the studio's current projects--Star Wars: First Assault and Star Wars 1313--were cancelled. I hope this means that they are looking for quality games... but who knows.
Spector is working at Junction Point on Epic Mickey for Disney. I bought the first Deus Ex recently. Turning off my second core with "set affinity" and switching off detail textures so eveything didin't turn green at a certain distance was all it took to get the game run perfectly.
I actually turn to medical references/papers to this. It may sound over the top, but I like hearing scientific explanations how the human body works. Although I might not be alone. When Disney was animating Tarzan, they consulted with physicians to oversea development of what his muscles should look like.
I'm not sure i'am allowed to dig up the thread like that but I made a quick pdf to explain the GuiltyGear Sahder with an example within Blender : here's the link to download it https://www.dropbox.com/s/65cwf6kjuezhwdl/GuilltyGearXrd_shader.pdf?dl=0 And here's an other test i'm working on from a concept by Disney for "Up" :
Great work man, mind if I ask where you go to school? I'm attending one that doesn't teach modelling like this at all. It's all pixar/disney-esque shorts that the school creates... I learn most of my workflow online, but I do enjoy the schooling for the connections and people!

Hi Billy, Thanks for the answer. I have to retry the Disney PBR, as it wasn't getting anywhere close to 3DO. It might be the .tx conversion in Arnold5 that is confusing. I also tested the PBR GGX setup, and that was giving me the same result as the Disney PBR: The specular roughness is way off and too glossy. In the end I…
Lookin' good so far! The main thing that stands out to me is the hair - even if us mere mortals can't come with a million miles of Disney's hair methods, it'd be great to see some alpha planes or something to add some wispiness. Or even without, perhaps it will look more natural to me once the braid is added on. :) The…
You'll never know if you have an audience for your ideas until you actively seek them out and possibly get support to develop and produce them in whatever platform you choose (film, graphic novel, games). Concept artist Rasmus Berggreen (now a studio owner) used Kickstarter to crowdfund his graphic novel Fall of Gods into…
