Hey thanks guys- @Dimfist- I'll work on it - I have to find some balance since there will be a tail there and it needs to look somewhat ...unintrusive. Here's an update from lastnight
What looks like pitting along the barrel is a little jarring compared to how pristine the rest of the gun is, namely the grip area. Basically, what Dimfist said haha
Thanks for the comments and critique, Dimfist. I am having a friend rigging it to make some idle animations. The character is part of a series of characters I plan on making soon.
Thank you Rakib and Dimfist  Was working on the Forearm Armor and Still uncertain about the sharper edges used.Planing to polish it out a bit more. Here is the WIP anyway
@dlinzp Thanks! Nothing fancy, I would recomend using good scans as references, it helps a lot. @SwarthChumkid Thanks! @Dimfist Thank you! It's just normal map, no displacement.
Dimfist please report that in detail in the technical thread. This way we can try to resolve this issue you are having. Sorry for the problems with the tool. http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=135743
Thanks for the advice @Dimfist the pic above is all in dynamesh still I haven't take it out of it's original dynamesh yet but will most likely do that now so I could start with the base forms.
Honestly, its very boring. Scene has very little depth cause the lighting is constant and the colors are clashing hard core. Like Dimfist said look at some reference to get an idea for color pallet
@Dimfist Thanks, I think the first one leans too much towards horror though. I want to show a little humanity somewhere which will defend the idea that he is more than just a monster.
