I doubt it's an oversight and probably just something they haven't gotten to yet. You can set multiple loop cuts by using the scrollwheel or typing in the number of cuts you want if that helps any. AFAIK there isn't the apply functionality you're wanting though.
Is it somehow possible to control the normals of a curve, to have them point into a certain direction? Or have them inherit the normals from a different object? I need to create a telephone cable. Simple, I thought, just create a curve spiral (Add -> Curve -> Curve Spirals -> Logarithmic), go to the properties of the…
@guitarguy00 you can't snap a vertex to the same face that it belongs to. The solution to what you want is to duplicate the vertex (the duplicate is a loose vertex), and then you can snap that vertex to any face of the mesh. You need to turn on the "Snap onto itself (editmode)" button. You can then connect that vertex…
@Pior Yes, the gradients would be correct if i wanted a smoothed cube but im talking about hard edges...maybe i didn't explain what i was trying to achieve very well..my bad. :/ What i was trying to show with the cube example is how to reduce the gradients if you want hard surfaces/edges without adding smoothing…
http://mont29.wordpress.com/2013/10/22/loop-normals-first-step-needs-testing/ ;) Note: you must be able to build Blender to test this (the branch is very close to trunk, so if you can build the trunk, you can build the branch!).
I don't understand what you are saying there...why would you need to add loops to the LP and then take them away after the bake? Surely the mesh is going to be projecting for the final LP anyways, so it makes no difference? Got a visual example or something?
Hi guys, Is there an equivalent tool in blender ? I tried to duplicate and separate an edge loop then convert it to curve but it's not smooth. When i convert points of the curve to bezier it is not the same as 3dsmax and nurbs sucks and do not retain some points. Or maybe it is possible to send my spline to blender ?
Cloth stuff looking cute, @JoseConseco! @pior have you tried https://gumroad.com/l/vol_smooth This script is incredibly powerful Alternatively select all edge rings along the edge loops you want to correct and run a LoopTools -> Space (or Relax, sometimes they are interchangable)
Great opportunity to compare loop cut smoothness with my Fuse tool :) The smoothness parameter works okay-ish, but theres no continuity in edge flow at the boundary., which seams to really limit how useful it is on anything but primitive geo. @So3Datel Are you up for testing this situation? :)
@wazou Cool :) In your gif after the loop cut do you have to press a hotkey to get back into it, or does it return control back to the script? Cause I've been trying to be to switch between loopcut and the knife tool without leaving the modal script, but with no succsess :/
