[ QUOTE ] Jeff is getting an error when trying to generate a normal map with our custom mesh importer. He loaded in the custom mesh file and once he tries to generate a normal map, it loads the high poly, then the low, then spits out an error about the mesh set being void. The mesh set isn't void, though. [/ QUOTE ] Sounds…
Yeah it can be fixed by editing in ps, I've actually used zbrush to paint in 3d on my low poly models a couple times to fix seams too, works very well. I was just wondering what the issue is, because i've seen programs that can generate the maps without any seams... I dont think i got any seams when using ORB or doom3....…
I was really amped to check this out but I get the following error when trying to install... -- This installation package is not supported by this processor type. Contact your product vendor. -- Any fixes for this, or am I just fubar'd? I have an errror log also if that'd help.
Thanks for the help. I adjusted the cage, broke the bulb out as a floating object and all is well now. Thanks again! I got the errors on the bottom when I calculated the distance of the raycasting. When I set it to default, it worked fine. Thanks again for this wonderful software!
Here you go, crazy mash up of screen shots: Tried using the cage but it gave the same errors. Here's the low and high in the 3d viewer and a screen of the cage. I guess xNormal 4 will have resizable window? Taking the screenshots of the settings was a bit of a pain since I had to take a screenshot, scroll a bit to the…
I recently ran into this problem as well. I will outline my findings: I took my low rez in maya, duplicated it and used transform component (similar to the push modifier in max) to build my cage. However I would get errors in xnormal when baking my maps. I triangulated both meshes and tried again. No errors. So I decided…
It's correct then. Question: can you render the Smiley example's AO ( 2k x 2k, tile size 512 ) using the Optix renderer? If you get that out of memory error then it's a driver's problem ( well, or beta problem ). If the smiley example renders ok then it's a real out of memory error... so you could try to subdivide a bit…
I am getting a similar error message to the one Ben Apuna was getting. I have verified that I am using the correct Nvidia drivers and that I've restarted enough times for the registry settings in xNormal to be written. The error message I get is: Memory allocation failed (Details: Function "rtContextLaunch2D"caught…
oh no that shouldn't be the problem then, it was just a guess. i've seen that error before i think, it may be somehow corrupted uvs/normals? like maybe you have only partial uvs, some faces dont exsist in the uv channel, that would cause problems, think about things like that
Hi, I tried to search the thread for this issue, but couldn't find it. I have installed xNormal without any problems. However when I go to bake the normals I receive an error that says, "sorry. Can't find the Normal plug-in." Is there something wrong, or am I doing something wrong?
