a bit more work on this, some screens in HL1 engine (i had an idea for a way to fake a glass effect without any shaders in HL1 and wanted to test it) oh and flats so far soon i'll do colour schemes - (it's a trabant but it's yet to be a himmelblauer trabant)
@ 7point83hertz Waaaaaaaaaaaaay too many triangles, theres no way that would work in a game environment, scrap it and start again. :) heh .. Anyways today i squiggled a cute little penguin named Pengui (innovative huh?) which i felt like modeling. :) moar soon! :)

texture-wise... i would just put a little bit more love into the armbands and the socks. and as van gogh says... if you hear a voice in your head saying that you are not a rigger/animator, then by all means, rig/animate! soon that voice will go away. happy st. paddy's!
Blenderhead: The 2-sided option in the Material Editor is just for rendering. To enable 2-sided polygons in the viewport, go to Object Properties, and then unckeck Backface Cull in Display Properties. (my first post here by the way... Hi everyone! Hopefully I'll start posting some 3d work soon :)

Yeah, I remember - couldnt remember your username tho With regards to highlights i agree that it doesnt want to all be brighter but it does definately need some to help make the different sections stand out from one another. Thanks for crits everyone, will post new and updated work soon.
i really just cannot get enough of this kind of art style. mouth watering goodness everytime. amazing work Pierate! also im new in this site and maya but i thought i would make a simple low poly sword to practice. any advice on optermization? textures coming soon.
