@deebak14: I would break it down into several patterns, the macro pattern would be something like the red lines: and then add a sub-pattern that makes out the other smaller bricks (the blue lines). There are some other small details that I would generate later on at random (example in the yellow circle).
Crosspost from my thread : http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=120358 "So, finally started with substance designer. Made a basic brick tile texture, inspired from The Order's artwork. Here's the screenshot, along with a very unorganized substance graph. Have to be more organized from next time."
@Petersen Looking good man! Finished up a new brick. Been out for a bit finishing up an art test. Man it was pretty awesome to see how quickly SD can pump out custom textures. It totaled to about 30ish textures in 20 hours. Pretty sweet! Sad thing is at the end of it SD crashed and refused to open the file again. I was in…
Thanks Uzziel! Ah I see. Thanks for taking the time to create an example :) I used that same switch method for a randomized brick wall pattern, though for some reason it didn't occur to me to use that method for this as well :P Still its quite fun to experiment with different ways of doing things.
Whoa, forgot to post this here! I recently finished a road/brick texture. Not too happy with the general material definition, but it was a fun exercise. Video, flats and graph can be seen here. <--- Clicky And as a bonus, here's a video about how to do an easy herringbone pattern. :)…
I am having the hardest time trying to figure out how to make a realistic brick. What I have right now http://i.imgur.com/52HKYYU.jpg Really trying to get the diffuse to pop without relying so much on materials Sharpened it all a bit after I posted.. Looks a bit better... Any tips?
A brick material that I think is finished but would like some feedback, if needed. I'm a huge fan of Insomniac Games. With the new title out, I've been working on an environment for my portfolio to represent their art style. I've gone through the PS4 title and collected a bunch of the tiling materials and slowly trying to…
Got a bit bored last night so I decided to create a second entry. Its a bit noisy in the Albedo, so I may flatten some of it out to give it a more painty look. Pretty inexperienced with doing more stylized stuff with Substance but its fun to play with. Hopefully will get back to the bricks sometime today.
Working on a procedural brick in Substance. Eyes are getting a little weary. Could use some fresh eyes on it. Thanks: @dzibarik Some of those are pretty simple. use a tile Node. it basically tiles a shape with options. The herringbone patters may be a little tougher but I think you can still get it using the tile node.
I thought I would ask this here being as the work I have seen is just incredible. I am struggling with designer a little bit. I have the fundamental basics of how to work with it and I have been making Substance materials for a few months now but I always struggle with blending. As soon as I start plugging up nodes for…
