Thanks for that, for the micronoise I could use something like "white noise" or "blue noise" in Substance with a higher scale in the roughness. For the metalness side, would you recommend a very subtle amount such as 0.8(with full metalness being 1) on that layer?
I did it from 2014-2018. You absolutely can. The work is TOUGH, because youre beholden to the whims of whatever ad company, or client you've got at the moment, but the work is generally steady ( provided you do a good job).

If you are using 2018 or newer then in the uv toolkit there is a area that you can get and set the texel density. I set it once for a scene and then I know that all the assets I create will get the same density.
i mean look at this shit... Max 2018 still had problems with modifying the geometry of an imported FBX, completely fucked all the normals on the model. This ranked in the top 3 reasons for me ditching this shitty software
this is on a recent 2018 version but... I've seen some pretty horrendous performance problems if you have clone layers in your stack - even when hidden. the fix was to put the clone layer in a folder and hide that instead.
