Agree with Kwauhn, some color on those doors would make them more interesting. First thing that came to mind as an example are the ones in Left 4 Dead:
LazyMouse + Masking. Then use a Layer Brush for example to push it in and clean up after that. Masks depend on the density of the mesh, if there are not enough polys it won´t work as expected.

I don't know but it's crazy high - I heard a report on NPR and they used Florida as an example to put things in perspective - the percentage of elderly in Japan is double that of Florida.
That's a good example for games, since it easily allows you to animate the tracks through scrolling UVs, rather than a complex rig. Just something to bear in mind.
I actually would really like to hear anybody's advice on this as well! For example residing in the US but taking currency from the UK or China. Tips much appreciated :)
