Not quite sure what it is... maybe get more of a mesh going then go and paint details onto it with ZBrush. Use the Pinch tool for making "hard edges" in the mesh, it really makes things more believable and gets rid of the "blobby" look that so many ZBrush models often have.
It looks like he needs to be a fair bit denser all over so you have a bit more control, and the leg area, try to get ride of that six edged vert. I try to keep everything three four or five. Six tends to pinch and smooth weirdly.
Well, assuming that the 32incher at 4k is roughly 28 inches wide for 4096 pixels and knowing that the 12wx is 10 inches wide for 1080 pixels That means that the 12wx from 2009 has a resolution of 128 pixels per linear inch, and the 2018 32 incher has ... 146. Considering that the working distance is the exact same (length…
I'm by no means an expert, but I feel like they don't pop? I think it's the lighting. They're not flat, but I feel like it doesn't really make them stand out; I think perhaps more contrast could be good. Darker shadows, and lights positioned so the shiny parts really catch the light and highlight the details, like the…
Arms too long, legs a pinch too short, feet too big. Neck too thin (both in X and Y direction), and there shouldn't be a dent between shoulders/neck but an upward slope ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trapezius_muscle ).
i *love* those things. They're like a way more awesome version of a geebee z. Unfortunately i dont know them well enough for accuracy crits, but it looks convincing and there's no dodgy pinching so do carry on
damn pior ! what a good use of this pinch tool ! I would be VERY interested of a mini tutorial of how did you get this sexy result. I'm still a little "rough" with Zbrush. Anyways, top notch work !
And you registered here on my birthday :P His shoulder/armpit looks funkily pinched in, also his ribs seem to stretch a little long down low or so. Is his face supposed to be one of a protoss? :P
The shoulder pauldrons are too muddy. You need to pinch and define planars more, study existing clothing and see how and where folds get sharper, bunched up more, or splay out from origin points across cuffs, etc. Can you get a close up on the face?
Managed to get it all quads, still not smooth perfectly, but its barely noticable. The rings I added are now causing some issues, so I might just make them run as single loops around the cylinder, until they get to the area of the cylinder, so it doesn't causing pinching.
