Thanks! Its initially for pc and ps4. Its a four player local multiplayer game and I can't imagine the controls transferring well over to mobile. I don't think the level of detail and size of the assets would hold up on mobile either :p .
What I've been wondering is, can an artist specialise in hand painted/low poly/mobile and expect to find a decent amount of work? I think it could be fun to focus on that market as a freelance hand paintery mobile guy but how viable of a career would that be?
Sure. Unreal Mobile is ass and working in Mobile is generally ass, so we had to turn Spec off most of the time, which in turn made the normals non existent, and the lighting was ass, too so I had to really push the depth of the diffuse a lot.
The mobile shaders are very fast and are suitable for games. It's hard to give more in depth performance information as it is highly dependent on the complexity of the specific game, and the hardware the game is running on. Yes, Skyshop will be able to light a single WoW style character on mobile devices with very high…
Yup, games are games. The rise of Mobile and smaller developers is a global phenomena, you can actually ship an OK game that isn't a record smashing blockbuster and sustain your studio without layoffs. This is why you see people leaving the AAA space for mobile & f2p.
need some help about modeling for mobile games and texture also means how much should b the polygon, and how much should b the texture size and how can i import all the things in program. The target platform is nikea opengl enabled mobiles.
yeah i sorry about that, i couldn't figure out how to get mobile, and most if not all the companies would be sent through email on my mac so another reason why i never did the mobile setup. Thanks Eric i'll will definitely use i
If its for mobile you're better off adding geometry over textures anyway. Mobile devices are surprisingly good at calculating a lot of verts but less so at using textures, which eats up memory. Of course there is a balance to some extent but I think what you've got is fine.
Gamefromscratch also has some good info. @TeeJay: I think you've got a PS Vita so you might also be interested in the PlayStation®Mobile Developer Program and these PlayStation Mobile SDK Development tutorials. From what I understand it's all C# too.
Yup mobile games is your best bet. Keep in mind though...mobile games are advancing too...If your looking to stay in the industry its probably important that you keep up with new techniques/technology, since there just isn't as much demand for old school 3d anymore.
