Ive always gone with an unrealistically smooth edge style before to help baking, but this time i decided to go for a more realistic approach and keep the edge smoothness to what it is on the real thing.. i might go ahead and adjust the edges once i get the results of the first bake but for now ill keep it as it is.…
Best render will work for me without a seam on most matcaps, but some still give the issue. In a recent tutorial set about tiling textures by highbred3d (http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=107062) He had these seam issues but just fixes them in photoshop using the spot heal brush and constraining to a straight…
You people throwing slides around like its nobodys business should just listen to dpadam450 instead. That will probably make you more happy then finding yourself sitting at the end of a 3 year project and suddenly have to max LOd every single object in your game in the last 2 months becasue you are running your game at…
I thought Max snap system did just that make you SNAP!!! If you want to align something just copy and paste, it totally defeats the purpose but it works. By the way 3d snaps don't work in the ortho views just perspective, and 2.5 seem to only work in the ortho view from my experience. This might just be user error though.…
i did add toe nails but no finger nails, i wanted him to sorta have no finger nails. not sure why lol so retop is pretty much done. still way to high for what im shooting for imo. im sitting at about 24k polys im going to go back in again and work on the hands, face, and the belt skull and try and shave off a good amount.…
This is of to a good start,I agree with Painreliever about the head and chest. Though I think the head is to big anyway,3 heads = shoulder width.....though maybe 2.5 in this case becuase of the helmet . The arms arn't long enough if those blocks are suppsoe to be wear his hands are going. he needs a nice round juicy…
LOL...no Tim....that was my first real gun. When I hunted deer I used a few different ones. My first year was a 7.62 French MAS, then a Remington .244, then I had a nice Herter's .270 with a 3-9 scope. The challenge was too easy so I went back to a single shot 30-30 and still got a deer. I moved to California and my…
From what I know NURBS are used a lot to make cars and other organic looking objects. SubD are new to games but it has been around since at least Max 2.5 around 1998. Working with NURBS requires a Game Artist to approach the modeling process in an entirely different way from polys so it is a real pain to make the switch.…
I have to do some relatively low res assets - at 2.5 px/cm. Usually with hard edges and normal map baking it's common to see a tiny little seam if you zoom in A LOT on them or if the texel density is low (it's not really a problem in most cases). However, this doesn't happen if baking in Maya - even at super low…
As I was trying to familiarize myself with the tools (following some tutorial from the zbrush website) i accidentally pressed some combination of keys and suddenly my screen was filled with this gray colour, clipping the model on the xy plane.
