he's extremely... wide, most wow type characters are quite lean with just the armour bulking him up, night elves are especially lean as that's their racial make up, been kind of bothering me the entire way through :) Nice texturing as well -

I imagine you'd have to get the input and output connections to find the nodes it's connected to, break those connections, and then re-connect the original plugs avoiding the node you wanted to remove. Now as for the other side of the fence, we traditional artists were likewise instilled with similar fundamental knowledge at art school when studying what materials are composed of and how to effectively depict them, whether an easel based dry or wet… -

I think the levels of this thing we call 'originality' you can find in art relates to something like this. People complaining that someone who makes generic looking elvs or orcs not being 'original' kinda misses out on the bigger picture of all things 'art'.
